Some of the features listed need a line to link to the appropriate word or phrase. Others, where there are several examples, could be highlighted or ringed in colour with the pen. Not all the features listed below have been copied onto page 2. You may add others if you wish.(Highlight from list, copy and paste onto page 2) There is also a 3rd page where you can list certain features identified. If using the interactive whiteboard, it should be possible to highlight the word or phrase and drag it to the appropriate section on page 3. (When designing this without the interactive whiteboard, I found it difficult to drag with the mouse. It is possible to highlight, then copy and paste to page 3.)NOTES FOR TEACHERSDec 27 - 19:09a question or title requiring an explanation of a processaction verbscausal connectivespassive voiceuse of present tensecomplex sentencessequential connectives technical vocabularyopening general sentenceExplanatory text How an Air Bag Works The main purpose of air bags in cars is to protect the driver if there is an accident. When a vehicle collides with another vehicle or object, the impact can be great, and there is the possibility of the driver sustaining severe injuries. Air bags have been designed to provide protection against the impact of a collision. They are located behind the steering wheels of cars, which are now designed so that the air bag is released when impact reaches a certainlevel. When a car is involved in a collision the impact causes the housing to break. Next the air bag inflates in order to provide a barrier between the driver and the windscreen. As a consequence of this, the driver's chances of sustaining severe injuries are greatly reduced.Dec 27 - 19:11Action VerbsTechnical VocabularySequential ConnectivesCausal Connectives
